Max Homa Belts Jaw-Dropping 477-Yard Drive

Max Homa's Historic Drive

Record-Breaking feat at Kapalua Plantation Course

On January 7, 2024, Max Homa made history by belting a staggering 477-yard drive at the Kapalua Plantation Course. This extraordinary feat not only shattered the previous longest drive record of 476 yards held by Davis Love III but also marked the longest drive ever recorded in the PGA Tour's ShotLink era.

Homa's remarkable drive came on the seventh hole of the Kapalua Plantation Course during the third round of The Sentry Tournament of Champions in Hawaii. The drive eclipsed Love's previous record set at the same course during the 2004 edition of the tournament.

The 477-yard drive is a testament to Homa's exceptional strength and precision. He smoked a tape (a straight drive that runs along the ground) on the downhill par-five 18th hole, sending the ball soaring over 450 yards. The ball ultimately landed just 23 yards short of the green, leaving Homa with a relatively easy second shot.

Homa's historic drive has earned him widespread recognition and praise. It is a remarkable achievement that further solidifies his reputation as one of the most powerful hitters on the PGA Tour. The feat also adds another chapter to the storied history of the Kapalua Plantation Course, which has witnessed some of the longest and most memorable drives in golf history.
