Early Life and Career

Blake Ashton Snell was born on December 4, 1992, in Shoreline, Washington. He attended Shorecrest High School before playing college baseball at Shoreline Community College and the University of Washington. Snell was drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays in the first round of the 2014 MLB Draft.

Professional Career

Snell made his MLB debut in 2016 and quickly established himself as a top-tier starting pitcher. He won the American League Cy Young Award in 2018 after leading the league in ERA (1.89) and strikeouts (221).
