Stalled Spacecraft Delays Astronauts Return

NASA Astronaut Return Decision Coming Saturday

Stalled Spacecraft Delays Astronauts' Return

After 80 days in space, two NASA astronauts aboard the International Space Station (ISS) are finally set to learn their fate on Saturday.

The astronauts, Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams, have been stuck on the ISS since they arrived in a Boeing Starliner spacecraft in April.

The Starliner has been plagued by technical problems, which have prevented it from returning to Earth as scheduled.

Boeing Starliner Facing Technical Issues

NASA officials have said the Starliner has experienced a number of technical issues, including problems with its software and propulsion system.

These issues have forced NASA to delay the astronauts' return multiple times.

The astronauts were originally scheduled to return to Earth in June, but that date was pushed back to September due to the technical issues.

NASA to Announce Decision on Saturday

On Saturday, NASA is expected to finally announce its decision on how the astronauts will return to Earth.

NASA has two options: it can either use the Starliner to return the astronauts, or it can use a SpaceX Crew Dragon spacecraft.

If NASA decides to use the Starliner, the astronauts will return to Earth in early September.

If NASA decides to use the Crew Dragon, the astronauts will return to Earth in mid-September.
